Think about any questions you might want to ask in advance

All questions are important and sometimes being in the dental chair can have you draw a blank on the questions you would like answered. One of the best ways to ensure you get all of your questions answered is to jot them down!

Write down (on paper or even in your phone) the things you would like to discuss with us! We’re happy to answer any and all questions; what’s important to you is important to us!

Practice regular oral hygiene at home

The easiest way to make your appointment a breeze is to maintain brushing and flossing at home between visits. And yes, it’s a bit cliché to hear this from your dentist, but it actually can benefit you during your dental appointment.

The more you work in-between visits, the less time, discomfort and “scraping” we will have to do during your visit! Brushing after every meal and flossing regularly will ensure your visit is as quick and comfortable as possible.

Think relaxing thoughts

We know that visiting the dentist isn’t probably in the top 10 (top 100?) places you want to be, even though we LOVE having you.

It’s helpful to think through your appointment and remember that making sure you’ve eaten beforehand, are wearing comfortable clothing, and that you communicate any particular concerns directly to us. This will ensure your appointment is as quick and as comfortable as possible.

We truly believe in Dr. Belknap’s (the founder of our practice in 1996) motto, which is: “come in as a patient and leave as a friend.” Our hope is that once you visit our practice, Nightingale Family Dental becomes your “dental home” for life.
