RESTORE YOUR TEETH

Root Canal

Why You Might Need It:

If a tooth is deeply infected and/or has a large crack below the gumline that has bacteria present, you may need a root canal. A root canal can relieve you of the pain you feel from the infection in your tooth.

What is the Procedure?

A root canal procedure is when the infected pulp is removed from your tooth. After numbing anesthetic is applied, the dentist will remove any and all of the infected area of your tooth. Depending on the amount of damaged enamel, you will either need a filling or a crown to repair the tooth.

What to Expect After Your Appointment:

You may experience inflammation and some discomfort after your root canal procedure, all of which should subside in a few days. Use of an ice pack and/or an over the counter pain reliever can help alleviate any discomfort.

You will have a follow up appointment to ensure that all of the infected areas were effectively removed.
