Esthetic CEREC Inlays and Onlays in Spokane Valley

When more than half of a tooth’s biting surface is damaged, we often use an inlay or onlay to restore the tooth’s anatomy, function, and appearance.

Traditional fillings can reduce the strength of a natural tooth by up to 50 percent. Alternatively, inlays and onlays, which are bonded directly onto the tooth, using special high-strength resins, actually increase the strength of a tooth by up to 75 percent. As a result, they typically last from 10 to 30 years.

In some cases, where the damage to the tooth is not extensive enough to merit an entire dental crown, onlays provide a very good alternative.

Dr. Jimmy and Dr. Lisa use only the highest quality materials (CEREC) to restore your tooth to it's natural function and beauty. For more information regarding our inlays and onlays, or to book an appointment, call our office today!

What are dental inlays and onlays?

Inlays and onlays are made of porcelain, gold, or composite resin and are bonded to the damaged area of the tooth. An inlay, which is similar to a dental filling, is placed inside the cusp tips of the tooth.

Traditionally, gold has been the material of choice for inlays and onlays. However, in recent years, ceramic porcelain has become increasingly popular due to its strength and color, which has the potential of matching the natural color of your teeth.

Dr. Jimmy and Dr. Lisa use the latest dental technology, processes, and materials to ensure your smile feels, functions, and looks as good as possible. Nightingale Family Dental is one of the only dental practices in the Spokane Valley area that uses CEREC for tooth restorations and select cosmetic dental procedures. How are inlays and onlays applied?

Typically, inlays or onlays can be completed in just one appointment!

The application of a same-day CEREC inlay or onlay is a streamlined process that begins with a comprehensive examination by Dr. Jimmy or Dr. Lisa. Using state-of-the-art technology, a digital impression of your tooth is captured with precision, eliminating the need for messy traditional molds. This digital blueprint is then transferred to our in-house CEREC Milling Unit, where your custom restoration is crafted in just minutes from high-quality ceramic material.

Once the inlay or onlay is ready, Dr. Jimmy or Dr. Lisa ensures a perfect fit by precisely placing and bonding it to your tooth during the same appointment. This eliminates the inconvenience of multiple visits and temporary restorations.

The final step involves polishing and refining the restoration to seamlessly blend with your natural teeth, providing both durability and aesthetic appeal. Experience the efficiency and excellence of same-day CEREC technology under the expert care of Dr. Jimmy and Dr. Lisa for a cosmetic dental restoration that exceeds expectations.
